My Target Shopping Trip 9/3/09

Pre-Coupon Total:$5.30 After-Coupon Total:$0.30

Johnson's Baby Wash (clearance)- $2.08
$1.00 Target Coupon
$1.00 Manufacture Coupon =$0.08

Skittles Crazy Cores-$0.64
$1.00 Target Coupon = FREE + .36 Overage
(The Cashier didn't want to allow me to use it. I told her to override the price to $0.64 she argued with me. Contacted another cashier who said to override it as well and she didn't just hit K1 and took off the whole $1.00)

(2) Bic 8ct Mechanical Pencils- $1.24 each
$1/2 Target Coupon
$1/2 Manufacture Coupon = $0.24 each

The cashier also argued with me about using Target & Manufacture coupons together. She eventually did and then walked over to another cashier to talk about it. As she was walking back to her register she stated "We need to do something about this, this is not right!" Needless to say I contacted Target Customer Service. I am FED up with the way I get treated when I have coupons. Always a "sigh" and complain! :(
This is what they responded with:

"Dear Courtney,
I'd like to share with you some information about our coupon policy. When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:

- We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued and manufacturer-issued.
- We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
- We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in this case, we're able to adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
- We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
- All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out.

Additionally, we’re sorry you didn't receive the type of service you've come to expect at Target. The team member attitude and behavior you described isn't part of our guest service philosophy. We expect our team members to help you in a professional manner. Hearing your comments is very important to us, and I’ve shared them with the Beavercreek Target Store Leadership team for further review.

While you're in the store, you can always visit the Guest Service Desk and ask to speak with the Guest Service Team Leader. They'll do their best to help you. In the meantime, we'll keep working to provide you with the service you deserve.

Thanks for helping us make Target even better.

Sincerely,

Alex
